Day One
Group arrival at the Inn at Essex A Culinary Resort in Essex, Vermont. Upon your arrival you will be greeted by your local escort followed by a Welcome Reception. Tonight we enjoy a wonderful dinner prepared by the inn’s acclaimed chefs. (D)
Day Two
After a hearty breakfast, you depart with your local guide for a delicious day of touring. This morning we travel to the Morse Sugar Farm where you will learn about maple sugaring followed by a traditional sugar-on-snow party. Next enjoy lunch on your own in Montpelier (Vermont’s State Capital) which is home to the New England Culinary Institute. This afternoon we visit Neighborly Farms, a true Vermont family farm, where you will learn about and see the production of their tasty organic cheddar style cheese. This evening we enjoy a cooking demonstration followed by another delicious dinner at the inn. (B,D)
Day Three
Following breakfast, we travel along Lake Champlain to Dakin Farms where you will see the production of their gourmet meats and sample many of their fine Vermont made products. Next enjoy a visit to the Shelburne Museum, located in Vermont's scenic Lake Champlain valley, Shelburne Museum is one of the nation's finest, most diverse, and unconventional museums of art and Americana. Over 150,000 works are exhibited in a remarkable setting of 39 exhibition buildings, 25 of which are historic and were relocated to the Museum grounds. Lunch is on your own at the museum. Our final stop today takes us to the Shelburne Vineyard for a tour and tasting at this new Vermont vineyard. A farewell dinner is served followed by a dessert making demonstration. (B,D)
